MySpaceCube was born from a simple belief: your data belongs to you. It stays at home, and if it ever leaves, it is because you chose so: encrypted, unreadable to us.
Built for our own family first
MySpaceCube was born at home. I first built it for my family and me, to keep better track of our spending, our bills and our budget, and to plan the month's recipes along with the shopping list that goes with them.
By linking the budget, the month's menus and the shopping, you do your shopping in one go, you stick to it, and you see straight away whether the month's grocery budget holds. What worked for us became an app, then a suite of modules for the whole family, without ever sending our data anywhere else.
Then the app brought together the rest of family life: contacts, calendar, notes… At home, some of us have an iPhone, others an Android, and the computers run Windows or Ubuntu: so many ecosystems that barely talk to each other. And we do not trust the tech giants to keep all of that. MySpaceCube connects all these devices without going through them.
